| AMSR-2 daily products
| The daily files consist of over-ocean measurements (geophysical retrievals or parameters) mapped to a regular 0.25-degree grid complete with data gaps between orbits. Two maps exist for each parameter, one of ascending orbit segments and the other of descending orbit segments. Data on each of the segment maps are averaged where successive orbits cross and are overwritten at the seam or region where the last orbit of the day overlaps the first or bit of the day. Daily data files contain time maps consisting of the UTC observation time for each set of passes (ascending and descending).n Gridded data are organized according to observation date. All dates and times are Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), also known as Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), Zulu Time (Z), Universal Time (UT), and World Time.\n\ncdm_data_type = Grid\nVARIABLES (all of which use the dimensions [time][latitude][longitude]):\nTime_Ascending (Decimal Hour of the Day, Ascending Passes, hour)\nAMSR2_SST_Ascending (AMSR-2 Sea Surface Temperature, Ascending Passes, degree_C)\nWSPD_LF_Ascending (Surface Wind Speed, Low Frequency, Ascending Passes, m s-1)\nWSPD_MF_Ascending (Surface Wind Speed, Medium Frequency, Ascending Passes, m s-1)\nWater_Vapor_Ascending (Atmospheric Water Vapor, Ascending Passes, mm)\nCloud_LW_Ascending (Cloud Liquid Water, Ascending Passes, kg m-2)\nRain_Rate_Ascending (Rain Rate, Ascending Passes, mm hr-1)\nTime_Descending (Decimal Hour of the Day, Descending Passes, hour)\nAMSR2_SST_Descending (AMSR-2 Sea Surface Temperature, Descending Passes, degree_C)\nWSPD_LF_Descending (Surface Wind Speed, Low Frequency, Descending Passes, m s-1)\nWSPD_MF_Descending (Surface Wind Speed, Medium Frequency, Descending Passes, m s-1)\nWater_Vapor_Descending (Atmospheric Water Vapor, Descending Passes, mm)\nCloud_LW_Descending (Cloud Liquid Water, Descending Passes, kg m-2)\nRain_Rate_Descending (Rain Rate, Descending Passes, mm hr-1)\n

| OBIS - ARGOS Satellite Tracking of Animals
| Various species have been tracked using ARGOS PTT trackers since the early 1990's. These include Emperor, King and Adelie pengiuns, Light-mantled Sooty, Grey-headed and Black-browed albatrosses, Antarctic and Australian fur seals, Southern Elephant Seal and Blue and Humpback whales. Note that not all data for any species or locations is or will be exposed to OBIS. Geographic coverage is from Heard Island to the west and Macquarie Island to the east and several islands near the southern end of Chile. The data has been filtered to remove most but not all erroneous positions.\n\nDiGIR is an engine which takes XML requests for data and returns a data\nsubset stored as XML data (as defined in a schema). For more DiGIR\ninformation, see http://digir.sourceforge.net/ ,\nhttp://diveintodigir.ecoforge.net/draft/digirdive.html ,\nand http://digir.net/prov/prov_manual.html .\nA list of Digir providers is at\nhttp://bigdig.ecoforge.net/wiki/SchemaStatus .\n\nDarwin is the original schema for use with the DiGIR engine.\n\nThe Ocean Biogeographic Information System (OBIS) schema extends\nDarwin. For more OBIS info, see http://www.iobis.org .\nSee the OBIS schema at http://www.iobis.org/tech/provider/questions .\n\nQueries: Although OBIS datasets have many variables, most variables\nhave few values. The only queries that are likely to succeed MUST\ninclude a constraint for Genus= and MAY include constraints for\nSpecies=, longitude, latitude, and time.\n\nMost OBIS datasets return a maximum of 1000 rows of data per request.\nThe limitation is imposed by the OBIS administrators.\n\nAvailable Genera (and number of records): (error)\n\ncdm_data_type = Point\nVARIABLES:\nlongitude (degrees_east)\n... (76 more variables)\n

| OBIS - FishBase (Philippine Server)
| FishBase is a global information system on fishes. FishBase is a relational database with information to cater to different professionals such as research scientists, fisheries managers, zoologists and many more. FishBase on the web contains practically all fish species known to science. FishBase was developed at the WorldFish Center in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and many other partners, and with support from the European Commission (EC). Since 2001 FishBase is supported by a consortium of seven research institutions.\n\nDiGIR is an engine which takes XML requests for data and returns a data\nsubset stored as XML data (as defined in a schema). | OBIS - Gwaii Haanas Marine Plants (OBIS Canada)
| The database covers the Haida Gwaii archipelago on the West Coast of Canada, including all species of the Haida Gwaii region from any published source, accessible collection and unpublished observations from scientists.Lists all marine plant species and maps their distributions from the first records (1911) to 1999 and includes 348 seaweed and 4 seagrass species from 456 intertidal to shallow subtidal locations. This inventory had detailed regional starting points (Hawkes et al. 1978; Scagel et al. 1993) and >90% of the plant species are represented by specimens in the Phycological Herbarium of the University of British Columbia Botany Department. OBIS Schema concepts implemented in this data set are:DateLastModified, InstitutionCode, CollectionCode, CatalogNumber, ScientificName, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species, Subspecies, ScientificNameAuthor, YearCollected, MonthCollected, DayCollected, Country, Locality, Longitude, Latitude, Citation, DepthRange.
